Will The Real Gun Pimp Please Stand Up?

by William Skink

It looks like the recent coronation of Hillary Clinton combined with the tragedy in Orlando has riled up the conspicuously quiet partisans at Intelligent Discontent, as evidenced by this comment from Pete Talbot on yesterday’s post:

“Keep pimping those guns, Skink”

As liberals gear up to squeeze every last drop of moral indignation they can get from the corpses of dead Latinos (a twofer!) in Orlando, the hypocrisy is glaring for those with the eyes to see. To see what? To see non-American innocent murdered dead people as, you know, people.

I don’t pimp guns, and I’ll eloquently reply that Pete can go fuck himself for making the spurious claim. Attacking me is pretty pathetic when the true pimp of murderous weaponry is the Queen of his sorry-ass political party:

Hillary Clinton’s statement on the mass murder in Orlando is mostly a confection of the empty, saccharine pieties for which the entire American political class is known – but it concluded with a revealing statement.

There she said: “This is the deadliest mass shooting in the history of the United States and it reminds us once more that weapons of war have no place on our streets.” (Emphasis, jw)

But those “weapons of war” have been used on the streets of Iraq and in midnight raids on the civilian population in the war there that Hillary so ardently backed.

Does she even grasp what she is saying? She is saying that it is an atrocity to use such weapons on Americans – but not on the brown people, civilians in their homes, in Iraq and throughout the greater Middle East and North Africa in U.S. wars of aggression and the occupation. To be horrified by the use of those weapons on Americans but not on Arabs qualifies as racism of the basest sort.

I know, isn’t it weird he’s calling Hillary Clinton a racist? I thought only Donald Trump and all conservatives and/or stupid white sexist hicks were racist, never ever ever morally righteous liberals.

This is American exceptionalism at its most disgusting. Our casualties get an emotional response from the President, while the literally millions of innocent victims caught in the cross-fire of America’s global war glut will only get more death and destruction if the War Queen and Gun Pimp, Hillary Clinton, obtains the White House.

The above quote comes from Counterpunch, and I know how those ID writers feel about Counterpunch, so here’s a little bit from Mother Jones about their Democratic gun pimp presidential candidate:

In 2011, the State Department cleared an enormous arms deal: Led by Boeing, a consortium of American defense contractors would deliver $29 billion worth of advanced fighter jets to Saudi Arabia, despite concerns over the kingdom’s troublesome human rights record. In the years before Hillary Clinton became secretary of state, Saudi Arabia had contributed $10 million to the Clinton Foundation, and just two months before the jet deal was finalized, Boeing donated $900,000 to the Clinton Foundation, according to an International Business Times investigation released Tuesday.

The Saudi transaction is just one example of nations and companies that had donated to the Clinton Foundation seeing an increase in arms deals while Hillary Clinton oversaw the State Department. IBT found that between October 2010 and September 2012, State approved $165 billion in commercial arms sales to 20 nations that had donated to the foundation, plus another $151 billion worth of Pentagon-brokered arms deals to 16 of those countries—a 143 percent increase over the same time frame under the Bush Administration. The sales boosted the military power of authoritarian regimes such as Qatar, Algeria, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, and Oman, which, like Saudi Arabia, had been criticized by the department for human rights abuses.

I’m not the gun pimp here, and I won’t be the one with blood on my hands by voting for this evil political creature.

Nice deflection, Skink, turning the tragedy in Orlando into a screed against Hillary Clinton. You’ve consistently railed against expanding background checks in the Missoula are, calling it “elitist,” and in the post below you claim that more “gun controlling regulation” wouldn’t have stopped the massacre. In Skink-world, we should all be packing AR-15s.

And that was quite an eloquent reply: “Pete can go fuck himself.”

  2. petetalbot says:

I guess because I don’t write about what you think I should write about, I’m a hypocrite. Sorry. I do small ‘d’ democratic politics, that and providing fodder for this site. I leave world affairs and foreign policy and throwing brickbats at everything that does’t meet your high moral standards to you. And I’m the “elitist.”

Let’s talk about hypocrisy. In this post, you shed crocodile tears for “the brown people, civilians in their homes, in Iraq and throughout the greater Middle East and North Africa … ” But for god’s sake, don’t relocate them to Missoula, Skink says. Folks advocating that are just ignorant, liberal “do-gooders.”

Man, you can dish it out but you sure can’t take it.

    • I have no problem taking it, which is why you and Don are still welcome to comment here. your site, however, won’t allow my comments. I wasn’t even going to mention ID until you decided to make your bullshit comment about me pimping guns. and if you want to bring up the refugee issue, I have no problem repeating why I don’t think Missoula is prepared for what it will take to relocate and integrate refugees from the locations your Queen of Chaos has destabilized.

      • petetalbot says:

That should read “probably ‘not’ my best response.” On second thought, maybe it was my best response.

      • petetalbot says:

My “Queen of Chaos?” I just spent the last weekend in Helena caucusing for Bernie. Keep telling what I am, though.

    “Keep pimping those guns, Skink”

Um, WTF Pete? When has Skink ever done this?

I’m also not sure what to make of your strange claim about Skink’s supposed “crocodile tears” for innocent people in Iraq and the Middle East and around the world…considering that he’s been blogging about very troubling U.S. foreign policy issues that have happened under both GOP leadership, as well as Democrats like President Obama, former President Bill Clinton and Secretary Hillary Clinton. Seems to me Skink has done more writing and public education than anyone in the Montana blogs on these issues. I certainly appreciate his voice and thoughts on these matters.

    • petetalbot says:

Do you read the posts, Koehler? Apparently I’m going “squeeze every last drop of moral indignation (I) can get” out of another mass shooting. Yeah, I’m indignant over the 14th massacre this year but Skink would rather pillory Hillary than discuss common sense gun control.

This isn’t about foreign policy, Obama or the Clintons.

I believe that semi-automatic assault weapons should be banned and background checks for private sales and at gun shows should be law. And you? Or Skink? Let me know. One of the reasons I left 4&20 was a discussion that Skink had when he decided to buy a handgun. When it comes to shooting someone: pistol or revolver, single-action or double, hollow-point or round nose? I don’t remember Skink rebuking this line of commentary.

      • “Another mass shooting.” Pete has not questioned even for a second if the “mass shooting” was real, since it was on TV. I have used the word “stupid” to describe him, but honestly, there are none of more incredulous natures hat I know. If it is on TV news it is without question real.

So I apologize Pete for calling him stupid. He is SAT qualified, smart as a rat, and not easy to fool.

        • petetalbot says:

Be sure to call the grieving parents, siblings and lovers of the dead in Orlando and tell the it was all a hoax, Tokarski. They’ll appreciate that.

      • Matthew Koehler says:

Yes, I read posts Talbot. Thanks buddy. And yes, I also agree that semi-automatic assault weapons should be banned and background checks for private sales and at gun shows should be law. I also think background checks need to be tightened up a bit so that people who were previously investigated by the FBI (twice) for links to terrorist suspects can’t walk into a gun shop and walk right out with an AR 15. Maybe those folks can wait a few months to get their AR 15.

        • Big Swede says:

Just a brief clarification. The gun used at the pulse was not an AR-15.

          http://bearingarms.com/bob-o/2016/06/13/narrative-fail-orlando-islamic-terrorist-use-ar-15/

        • petetalbot says:

I’m not up on the latest nomenclature on weaponry, Swede, but from the Wall Street Journal: “The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives in a statement called the gun an ‘AR-type rifle,’ referring to a popular type of military and civilian rifle.”

        • Big Swede says:

I guess that we need to educate both you and the BATF.

“The rifle used by the Islamist terrorist in Orlando was instead a Sig Sauer MCX carbine, a modular, multi-caliber (able to swap to different calibers, including 5.56 NATO, 300 BLK, and 7.62×39) rifle system that sometimes utilizes STANAG magazines common to more than 60 different firearms, but otherwise has no major parts that interface with AR-15s in any way, shape or form.

This of course, will make no difference at all to the anti-gun politimedia, who don’t particularly care about factual accuracy and who likely wouldn’t be able to tell an AR-15 from a toaster oven if their lives depended on it.”

        • petetalbot says:

Thanks for the clarification, Swede. I’m sure the 49 victims really appreciate the distinction.

        • Big Swede says:

The 49 victims cannot vote in November. The survivors can.

When all the facts are released, including Omar’s 911 call, they’ll vote for Trump.

  4. Eric says:

Assuming that Pete is reflecting the heartbeat of the Dem party, it is obvious that Gay people mean more to them than soldiers or other civilians. I can see how Hillary is connected here, because she thought it was a bright idea to send a Gay Ambassador to Libya even, and look how that turned out for him.

  5. steve kelly says:

Democrats seem stuck in the “identity” phase of the campaign season. Voters clearly want issues front and center. This is a problem for status quo candidates like Clinton (and other neocon “hawks”) who hasn’t yet figured out which issues are safe enough and popular enough for the general election. Please stop calling my home. Ask your security-state bureaucrats, or Google, or Amazon. They already know everything under the Sun.

Obama is still trying to push his “we must change” speech to Americans who don’t know what the hell he’s even mumbling about. Why must we change? What must we change? If he wants Americans to disarm, just say so. If he wants Americans to accept another wave of Muslim immigrants, or wants us to convert to Islam, just say so. Obviously, we’re not scared enough yet.

Expect more of the same until we have no civil liberties and no personal wealth left to give.

  6. Big Swede says:

“However great the shock of the massacre in Orlando, it is only a matter of time before we start hearing again the fact-free dogma that “diversity is our strength.”

If there is any place in the Guinness Book of World Records for words repeated the most often, over the most years, without one speck of evidence, “diversity” should be a prime candidate.

Is diversity our strength? Or anybody’s strength, anywhere in the world? Does Japan’s homogeneous population cause the Japanese to suffer? Have the Balkans been blessed by their heterogeneity — or does the very word “Balkanization” remind us of centuries of strife, bloodshed and unspeakable atrocities, extending into our own times?

Has Europe become a safer place after importing vast numbers of people from the Middle East, with cultures hostile to the fundamental values of Western civilization?

“When in Rome do as the Romans do” was once a common saying. Today, after generations in the West have been indoctrinated with the rhetoric of multiculturalism, the borders of Western nations on both sides of the Atlantic have been thrown open to people who think it is their prerogative to come as refugees and tell the Romans what to do — and to assault those who don’t knuckle under to foreign religious standards.

The recent wave of refugees flooding into Europe include Muslim men who have been haranguing European women on the streets for not dressing modestly enough, not to mention their sexual molestation of those women.

Smug elites in Europe, like their counterparts in America, are not nearly as concerned about such things as they are about preventing “Islamophobia.” Legal restrictions on free speech in some European countries make it a crime to sound the alarm about the dangers to the culture and to the people.

In the lofty circles of those who see themselves as citizens of the world, it is considered unworthy, if not hateful, to insist on living according to your own Western values or to resist importing people who increase your chances of being killed.”-Thomas Sowell
